How would you rate Amsterdam International Community School?
amazing so good i love it!
This is a great IB school: diverse, open-minded & above all they have created a safe environment in which the children can really thrive. After the move from Prinses Irene to the AJ Ernststraat the school now has a great building with all facilities needed. I truly recommend
AICS (main campus) offers all that our child needs to develop socially and academically. For a child with good academic engagement, the school life is rich and also fun, and there鈥檚 no non-sense pressure. We were already happy with Primary school, but Secondary school has been particularly positive.
I was a student there and loved every part of it!!! The teachers were nice the gym was fantastic and it was very international.
It is so nice here. The teaching is good and the building is beautiful.
Our kids (two boys 13,15) have been at the AICS for 10 years now. Generally we are very pleased as the environment is friendly and children like going to school. It is a lot more down to earth compared to other international schools in Amsterdam. Primary was great for us. Secondary has become more structured with the arrival of the new principal. Stakeholder management and operations have also improved and it seems standards have risen... may be also as kids progress through the program. The new building is great. All in all a great opportunity to get good international education at super reasonable price.
My children have been at AICS for several years and are very happy and so are we. The majority of the teachers are well prepared, empathetic and compassionate, engaging in the children鈥檚 learning and emotional growth. Children become great thinkers and international minded people. They learn a lot by relating concepts in a holistic way, which gives them a more critical way of thinking to relate to the world and their approach to new ideas.
AICS is a Dutch Public School offering international education, the IB curriculum, to families planning on staying in NL for a short term. Though English is the language of instruction, Dutch is also taught. The community of families is very diverse and cooperative. Teachers are experienced, dedicated and dynamic. There has been a significant effort, in the last few years, to improve communication and general management. In 2022, the main location will be moving to a new dedicated building in Buitenveldert.

My daughter attended the new S.E. location for Fall 18 term. Really enjoyed her time in primary school. The teachers and staff were very cooperative. Overall a positive experience to our family's Amsterdam experience.

Very nice school. Teachers are very nice and helpful here. The education challenges students to do their best. However there are many complaints about the admins not always responding to the problems of guardians, parents or children. This school is very international and extremely diverse. I recommend this school and is very welcoming.
